The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) joined forces in 2019, leveraging a combined 65 years’ experience in research on the role of forests and trees in solving critical global challenges.
ICRAF in Brazil conducts research and generates knowledge that enables the creation of practical solutions which promote restoration and sustainable production. All this is aimed at providing employment opportunities and generating revenue, reducing production costs, increasing environmental resources, promoting maintenance of ecosystem services and diversifying production through the use of trees or other woody perennials, for example, food, fodder and building materials.
