Anja Gassner -Leader Research Methods Group.

Anja is the head of the research methods group. Her background is spatial data modeling and applied statistics. Based in Nairobi she provides research support from study design (social as well as biophysical) to data analysis and presentation of research results. Anja has a PhD in Precision Farming from the University of Braunschweig, Germany and a Masters in Environmental Geochemistry from the University of Capetown, South Africa.

Ric Coe-Principal Scientist.

Ric is a research methods specialist. His role in ICRAF is to support research teams, scientists, students and partners in the design of research projects and studies to improve their effectiveness. Similarly, he supports scientists in the analysis, interpretation and communication of research data and results. Ric’s background is in mathematics, biometry and statistics and during his long career with ICRAF, he has increasingly concentrated on the design phase of research, with particular interest in the design of research studies that are embedded in ‘development’ projects.   His position with ICRAF is part time and he concurrently has a post with the Statistical Services Centre, University of Reading, UK. His work in the university also focuses on methods support to agricultural research projects in East and South Africa, together with increasing research methods capacity in the region. As such, it overlaps with and enhances work with ICRAF. R.Coe@cgiar.org

 

Paul Baraka- Research Data Specialist

Paul is graduate from JKUAT with a BSc. degree in Computer Technology and a Microsoft certified Technology specialist.He is a data and database expert working as a Research Assistant at the RMG unit. He has vast experience in database design and development and data manipulation which he has been doing for various ICRAF projects.Paul is also in charge of designing and developing data entry systems using CsPro, Epi-Info, MS Access and other design tools.

 Jacquie Muliro- Programme Management Officer

Jacquie is the Programme Mangament Officer at Research Methods Group and is based in Nairobi. She is in charge of Managing GRSC research activities and services provided by RMG and mainstreaming Open Access in ICRAF. Jacquie is a Certified IT professional and a PRINCE2 practitioner ; she has a BSc. degree in Computer Science
